Great Idea from CodeBastard Redgrave

Every now and then I come across something new, a great idea!
This is one all SLotographers would be interested in - the FilterCam HUD created by CodeBastard Redgrave.
This filter will allow users to cut out the photoshopping/gimp etc..
Get a great image without the need for post processing - what a simple idea, the HUD rezzes a prim across the whole screen and applies a texture onto it - simple isn't it - completely customizable (add your own filters/textures) its just one of those things you have to say 'WOW' to.
Created in collaboration with noted Second Life photographer and artist Ryker Beck, the HUD has 30 preset filters and 13 texture masks.
In the press release Redgrave states:
Current filter and texture masks include: blood, cinema, circle, clear, grunge, iphone, nightvision, oval, postcard, scanlines, square, tryptic, and wanted.
According to Redgrave, “Its the first customizable effect processor for SL ™ as far as i know.”

This, the first official release of the FilterCam HUD, has been thoroughly alpha tested and is now available for purchase only at the Rouge Boutique. FilterCam users are also invited to join the Flickr FilterCam Group - http://www.flickr.com/groups/filtercam/ - and post their own photographs using the FilterCam HUD.
Upgrades to the FilterCam HUD system are free and automated, and new textures and presets are in the design stages and will be added in the future.

Redgrave also notes, “I would like to thank Ryker Beck for making all of those fantastic filter masks, you, girl, seriously kick ass. Thanks to Alidar Moxie for being so brilliant and insightful. Thanks to Gabby Panacek for helping with promotion and documentation and distracting me from scripting. Thanks to all alpha testers and to everyone that contributed with ideas especially the SL Plurkies.”

A great idea and one I shall be checking out.

photoLIFE Brings Next Generation Photography to Second Life!

Three months ago OomPoppaMowMow Snookums was visiting a friend who was complaining about difficulties she was experiencing with her current photo studio. Having considerable experience with building homes in Second Life he decided to look into the problem to see if it was something he could help with. Seeing some immediate issues with his friends' studio he attempted to contact the creator and offer his assistance in addressing the problems. Sadly the creator of that studio did not respond to his offer.
After doing research with several photographers and photo studio owners, OomPoppaMowMow Snookums armed himself with statistics on photo studio requirements then started the creation of his own unique studio, now known as photoLIFE.
His goal was to build a photo studio unlike any other in Second Life. He would handle all the scripting and building himself leaving nothing to chance. This would allow him to make certain all scripting was done to his exacting details. The studio boast a 21 scene memory, a dual mode pose stand (singles and couples), and the addition of the alpha layer backdrop. The first of its kind in Second Life.
In the world of the internet, if you build it they will only come if you tell them you exist. His photoLIFE studio is being promoted in world and out. The ability to buy his studio on the SLEX and onRez is allowing this phenomenal product reach more and more people.
This amazing studio is now available to the public and can be seen and experienced in person at photoLIFE, Hale ukana (34, 29, 753). To discover just how different photography can be in Second life, visit the site or contact OomPoppaMowMow Snookums for a demonstration of all of the photoLIFE OM-10's amazing features.
Be sure to read the article in the next issue of The Best of SL featuring a full length interview with the creator himself.
OomPoppaMowMow Snookums says, "remember LIFE is good".

Avenue Inc opens in heaven

This place has been designed with great care, the atmosphere being the most important factor

apart from the runway itself of course.
With 83 people present it was a wonder the models could even walk but they did a great job showing their skill and professionalism during the entire show.
The opening fashion show featured Apple May Designs, Ravenwear, Indyra Originals and Szentasha Fashions in a spectacular setting which showed the designs to their best advantage.
After the show we were encouraged to join in the party and dance away with DJ Marko Beery or take a look in the mall to buy some of the outfits we had seen so well displayed.

AVENUE MODELS is a subsidiary of AVENUE Inc, founded by Rusch Raymaker, that specialises in customised fashion shows at Heaven's AVENUE or gracing their shows at clubs and venues and are also available for print, promotional and commercial assignments.
Click here to read what this great company has to offer.
Congratulations on an impressive launch you all did a fantastic job, I hope to be attending many more shows with you.
