Design contest delayed at M&M

Hello All   (Designers, Press, Contestants)

As soon as we announced we would have a Fashion Design Contest, all the residents reacted with enthusiasm.
But unfortunately that wasn't enough;
Due to SL's issues,  'better known & easy'  events and holiday-times we did not receive as many Entry-Forms as we hoped for.
A good Contest with some challenge needs at least 10 Designers !!
We're sad to announce the Contest can't take place on these grounds and we have to 'delay' this great event....
The M&M Creations Fashion Design Contest 2009 will become a NEW YEAR Fashion Design Contest 2010!

A better new year, better SL-performance,  more time for the Designers to create a smashing outfit!!
You can still pick up an entry form and take your time creating something amazing!

She began making shapes and even though her shop was small her clientele grew rapidly, and Shapes by Kira became an overnight success. Kira is also a co-owner of the Corrupted Innocence brand along with her business partner Alexxis Laszlo. Second Life is full of many people who make skin and shapes but Kira truly believes in putting out only quality material. There is nothing in her stores that she herself would not wear. Months ago Kira made a skin and sent it to bloggers. She got lots of feedback on that skin after its release and decided to create a new skin making changes to improve the overall quality of the skin and make it more appealing to potential customers.

Club Velvet Manor throws its first Fashion Show – September 29, 2009

The newly refurbished and relocated Club Velvet manor will sponsor its first fashion show on it’s own sim. The club is spotlighting the designers from all of their Boutiques located in the Atrium of Club Velvet Manor. Official invitation is as follows.

Fashions for Everyone - Presented by Virtual Ability

Virtual Ability presents "Fashions for Everyone" at Insight Virtual College. This one and a half hour long class will cover the following topics with plenty of time for discussion and demonstration:

• Background about disabilities in SL

• Relating to people with disabilities in general

• Issues related to clothing

• Store design for inclusion

• Issues related to salespeople

Did you know that 20% of SL residents have some kind of disability? Are you reaching this market with the fashions you create and your store layout? The audience for this class includes SL fashion designers as well as store owners in SL of any type.

Modavia Productions Announces Show Lineup for Fashion Week

July 27, 2009 –
Modavia Productions, the fashion show production division of Modavia Fashion Marketing, will host Fall Fashion Week.
This week of fashion shows will feature a preview of the new Fall and Winter collections from 35 of SL's best designers.
A broad range of men’s and women’s fashion designs including couture, formal, casual, and lingerie will be showcased.
Shows will begin on September 10 and run through September 17. A total of 35 designers will be represented in Modavia Fashion Week 2009 in 4 to 5 shows daily, beginning at noon SLT at The Tents at Bryant Park in Second Life.
In addition to the fashion shows, participating designers will have on-site boutiques, offering designs seen in their shows and there will be gifts offered to attendees by many of the designers and sponsors.

We are delighted to announce that Studio Red Entertainment, Lost Angel Industries, and Damiani will sponsor the entertainment which will include live DJs at every show. By Alexander Fine Jewelry designed by Alexandar Vargas, InQConnections.com, WBA Advertising, SL Newspaper, and VAIN Inc will also provide sponsorship for the event.

MODAVIA FASHION MARKETING LAUNCHES NEW VENTURE

Modavia Productions Announced

April 14, 2009 --- Poptart Lilliehook, CEO of Modavia Fashion Marketing and publisher of the Modavia Fashion Directory is pleased to announce the launch of a new division, Modavia Productions. This new subsidiary of the successful fashion house will produce major fashion events, seasonal revues and special interest showcases for the fashion industry within Second Life. While remaining wholly owned by Ms Lilliehook, the production company will be headed up by Payton Heron, ex Creative Director of RUNWAY Productions, and will act independently of the Fashion Directory.


According to Ms. Lilliehook, “Modavia Productions will add event production to our stable of fashion marketing services and will increase our reach into the industry as we continue to fulfill our remit of showcasing the best of fashion design in SL. This move will enable us, for example, to fulfill requests from the many designers showcased in our Fashion Directory, who have been asking us for some time to produce more fashion revues and industry events. We are extremely excited to announce at this time that we will be taking over the hosting of Fashion Week with the next event planned for the Fall to coincide with the New York event held in RL. We hope designers will continue to provide their support for this concept as they have done in the past.”

RUNWAY Model of the Year, Modavia Supermodel, and marketing guru, Payton Heron, will work with designers to ensure that garments are presented to the consumer in line with their vision for the brand and that all related marketing activity is well executed. Payton will also play an integral role in all aspects of the productions, from casting and set design to choreography.

RUNWAY fashion week 13th - 20th

Bryant Park, Second Life - RUNWAY Magazine, the number one fashion magazine in Second Life, will host it's first Fashion Week. This week of fashion shows will feature a broad range of fashion designers including couture, formal, casual, swimwear and more. Shows will begin on February 13 and run through February 20. A total of 35 designers will be represented in Fashion Week 2009 in 4 to 5 shows daily, beginning at 1 pm PST at RUNWAYs main sim, Bryant Park, in Second Life. In addition to the fashion shows, many of the participating designers will have on-site boutiques, offering designs seen in their shows and there will be gifts offered to attendees by many of the designers.

RUNWAY Magazine will co-sponsor the event with MaxMoney, a newly launched in-world money exchange venture by virtual world entrepreneur, Maximillian March of Max March Industries, Fabulous Fashion, a popular SLCN.TV weekly fashion talk show, hosted by Angie Mornington, and metaLIFE, the creators of a global platform that will connect and empower people worldwide and foster social interactions within virtual worlds.

Second Life/Real World simutaneous fashion event

At 11.00 AM SLT on the 26th of January 2009, the Ewing Fashion Agency will once again be joining forces with the Amsterdam-based real-world talent managers, The Artist Advice for another Second Life/Real World simutaneous fashion event. During the live fashion show at Beurs van Berlage (Amsterdam - The Netherlands), the Ewing Fashion Agency will host the Second Life version of the show at its Ischia sim location, where EGG Development will reproduce the venue of the show, The Beurs van Berlage. Building on the success of last years First Fusion show, this year each event will be viewable to the other as they occur. The Real World creations of Real World designers Jennifer Delano, Melanie Brown and Eleonore de Ruuk are being recreated for the Second Life production by a talented lineup of Second Life designers: Digit Darkes, Neferia Abel, Sascha Frangilli, Simone Stern, Sysy Chapman and Zaara Kohime.
In acknowledgement of significance of these innovative collaborations, Runway Magazine and DX Exchange have signed on as corporate sponsors for the event. Beside the fashion show, also the DJ will be presented in both world, Damien Simons will be on stage in the Beurs van Berlage and at Ischia during the show.

2009 Mantova International Art and Fashion Festival

RUNWAY Productions would like to include extend an invitation for you to visit and experience the 2009 Mantova International Art and Fashion Festival. The Festival will begin on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 12 pm and run through Friday, January 16, 2009.

The festival will be a week-long celebration of art and fashion from the international design community and will be held at the Mantova sim and sponsored by the Mantova Group.

The festival will feature daily two fashion shows at 12 pm SLT and 4 pm SLT each day, with live entertainment interspersed throughout the day. There will be a dance court and romantic walk for nightly dancing and socializing with live DJ each evening at 6 pm SLT.

The entire premise of the festival is to bring the international community in SL together and harmoniously present a forward look at art and fashion in Second Life.

LeeZu Baxter Designs changes name

The LeeZu Baxter Designs label has had a name change. The design house will now market the creations of LeeZu Baxter under the brand name LeeZu!

LeeZu! Is one of Second Life's top fashion houses showcasing the work of noted fashion designer LeeZu Baxter and her team of highly skilled professionals. The instantly recognizable clothing and accessories are noted for their complexity, femininity and creativity. The majority of LeeZu! outfits are created on multiple layers so the ability to mix and match is one of the hallmarks of this famous label.

Now two years old, the company, formerly known as LeeZu Baxter Designs, is located on the To The Nines Island in Second Life. LeeZu! also operates several satellite stores in select high-end sims. The designer offers items from formal wear to casual and everything in-between. Also available is a line of accessories, eyes, shoes and jewelry. LeeZu! has received a great deal of media coverage for the specialty lines Revolution and Noir.

A second GLANCE and Just Soul Promotions Production (Goodbye Glance...)

After their successful partnership for JSP Artist & Fashion Expo 2008, attended by well over 15,000 residents (verifiable statistics), Eric Coiffard and Patty Cortes decided to renew the contract established between Just Soul Promotions and GLANCE International Agency to produce together a Winter 2009 Edition of the fashion exposition.Starting on January, Saturday 10th and going on over the next 7 weekends, GLANCE International Agency will host a fashion show on JSP Island every Saturday at 1 PM SLT in-between two LIVE concerts. The LIVE musician Dominick Manatiso and the super trendy fashion designer Kaddan Yue are the first artists to kick off the grand opening of the New Year edition of the fair.
"I am very happy of the stats and having heard of their reputation for professionalism and smooth fashion shows, I knew Glance International Agency would handle it the best way." Eric Coiffard commented. During the six weekend celebration the CEO of Just Soul Promotions Company had to expand his mall and is now happy to offer more fashionable shops to the crowd eager for outstanding LIVE events and unique runs.
